I'm not sure naming a website after a single battery maker ("Varta") when batteries in computers can be made by many different companies is entirely a good idea...
Varta was a common (most common?) supplier of NiCd/NiMH batteries.

I was trying to (subtly) allude to the fact that most companies don't particularly like it when their name is sullied (for whatever reason). Can't say I will be surprised if this one results in a Cease and Desist order since Varta still exists...
You need to inspect all batteries regularly and remove them completely before putting computers into storage for extended periods. Preemptive replacement is probably also a good idea.
