Hello ladies and gentlemen,

I have serious problem. Please, I need your help.
My BIOS died.

I Have Asustek P/I P55SP4 rev. 1.4
award 4.50G bios
#401a0-0301
with pentium-S 150MHz
64MB RAM
Cache memory 256KB

In Bios it showed

ROM PCI/ISA BIOS (PI-55SP4)

Now when I turn it on it shows:

Award BootBlock Bios v1.0
Copyright (c) 1995, Award Software Inc.
BIOS ROM checksum error
Detecting floppy drive A media...
INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER

...well and my problem is that I don't have bios for it and even on asus support there is no bioses for this motherboard. Only for Asus P/I P55SP4V which has in default different cache and 512KB cache which could be really bad if I flash this bios.

You are my last hope hot to revive this motherboard. please, does somebody here have Bios for P/I P55SP4?
here is list of all P55 motherboards on asus:
https://www.asus.com/tw/search/results.aspx?S … rt=False&Page=1

And here is what it finds when I put there P/I P55SP4:
https://www.asus.com/cz/search/results.aspx?S … &IsSupport=True

Any help will be appreciated.

EDIT: Guys, i have found something here:
https://www.asus.com/ru/supportonly/P55SP4/He … pDesk_Download/

What if I put PCI/I P55SP4 to P/I P55SP4 motherboard?

I would use the BIOS that originally came with, and have fresh BIOS chips handy if the chip fails again. Welcome to Vogons.

You can try any BIOS without the risk of damaging something. It works or it doesnt. Maybe some featureas are missing or not working.

Have the same problem here
Shuttle HOT 555 VER 1.41 BIOS

This Award Bootblock BIOS is quite intersting. It provides Basic functions to initialize the Board and boot from floppy. I also managed to get a network drive running. Only 2000h bytes of Code required at the end of the Image and many text strings are included.
Anybody more information about it? Would be very interesting to make it compatible for other boards. Will try to disassemble when I have some time...
