Hi guys
I found original Gigabyte GA-660 Plus driver for Win98 (manufacture modified Detonator 2.08). One that allows overclocking directly from Windows Display settings.
Who can submit this driver to vogonsdrivers.com ?

try this one: https://www.elhvb.com/mobokive/archive/Gigaby … cd_win9x_12.zip
the .inf says :
; GIGABYTE TNT2 Series Driver Installation Information File for Windows 9x.
;
; Copyright(C) 1999, GIGABYTE Technology, Inc.
;
; Win9x version: 2.08/2.25
; WinNT4 version: 2.08

for these video cards (** marks the 660+ v2.08)):
GA660_Std.DeviceDesc="GA-660/TNT2 Display Driver [V2.08]"
GA660_Whql.DeviceDesc="GA-660/TNT2 Display Driver [WHQL'd]"
**GA661_Std.DeviceDesc="GA-660+/TNT2 Display Driver [V2.08]"**
GA661_Whql.DeviceDesc="GA-660+/TNT2 Display Driver [WHQL'd]"
GA665_Std.DeviceDesc="GA-665/(TNT2 Ultra) Display Driver [V2.08]"
GA665_Whql.DeviceDesc="GA-665/(TNT2 Ultra) Display Driver [WHQL'd]"
GA620_Std.DeviceDesc="GA-620/Vanta Display Driver [V2.08]"
GA620_Whql.DeviceDesc="GA-620/Vanta Display Driver [WHQL'd]"
GA622_Std.DeviceDesc="GA-622/(TNT2 Model 64) Display Driver [V2.08]"
GA622_Whql.DeviceDesc="GA-622/(TNT2 Model 64) Display Driver [WHQL'd]"

Hate posting a reply and then have to edit it because it made no sense 😁 First computer was an IBM 3270 workstation with CGA monitor. Stuff: https://archive.org/details/@horun

Thanks Horun!
Found this archive a few hours earlier, but kinda ignored it after only quickly sifting through the "Readme" file, where this is written:
================================================================================
NVIDIA RIVA TNT Display Driver for Windows 9x version 4.11.01.xxxx, MM/DD/YYYY
================================================================================

But now after reading the .inf file, it does indeed seem that it would be based on the 2.08 version.
Although "Win9x version: 2.08/2.25" might suggest that 2.08 is only for win95.. and 2.25 for win98.

Can't check right now, but i will make time these next few days, and retest the card with this driver. And see how it goes.

Again, thank you! 😄

Hope it works ! What made me double check those files at Elhvb.com is this archive.org link showing same files but no good descriptions so figured it would not hurt to look inside each one.
The archived vid card: http://web.archive.org/web/20001018103407fw_/ … /ga-660plus.htm
the archived driver/bios page: http://web.archive.org/web/20001018050332/htt … e-web/swagp.htm
It may not be the one you are looking for but was the only one with a hint of 2.08 buried inside the driver files.
Let us know and maybe would could dig a bit deeper and find it if not the one....

added: the nucd_win9x_13.zip file is broken on all the mirrors I checked so cannot verify it's version yet

Don't ask me how, but in the last 6 or so hours of scouring the net, internet archive and elvhb. com (https://www.elhvb.com/mobokive/archive/Gigaby … bios/index.html) .. i've managed to download all the drivers from elvhb.com , including the working:

Filename
nucd_win9x_13.zip
File size
1.74 MiB
Downloads
43 downloads
File license
Fair use/fair dealing exception

Can't remember how.. Too many hours, too little sleep.

(there are also the bioses on that page, too!)

Also. These past 2 hours I've managed to find a downloadable 2.08 driver on the gigabyte Chinese server/website ! (using The WB Machine)
Thing is, although i've downloaded it from the right place (clearly marked "GA-660/GA-660 Plus") , the archive is named "nvw9x208.zip" instead of "w9x208.zip" like on the other region-specific websites. So hope it's not a chinese driver. And to top of that, the archive had a broken end.. or some $hit.. And "NVOPENGL.DL$" couldn't be extracted properly.
But by checking against the size and timestamp of the file reported by WinRar, i could see it's identical to the one in the "nucd_win9x_12.zip" archive that you linked to. So I replaced it with that.
Also checked the checksum of what files i've found to have the same name/size/timestamp from the Chinese archive, against the "nucd_win9x_12.zip"... in order to have some certainty that only the reported file was corrupted. And indeed they check out fine.

So without any further adieu, here's the repacked Chinese archive:

Filename
nvw9x208 (china) (NVOPENGL.DL$ identical replacement).rar
File size
1.19 MiB
Downloads
40 downloads
File license
Fair use/fair dealing exception

[I Just hope it's not a China-only driver or something.. Will report back in a few days after installing the card.]

Here's the direct link to the corrupted archive: https://web.archive.org/web/20000819060607/ht … mp/nvw9x208.zip
And the Chinese download page is here: https://web.archive.org/web/20000831153458/ht … e-web/swagp.htm (later EDIT to properly link to download page)

While we're at it, I finally found the manuals too.. 😀
