I have received clearance from an administrator here at Vogons to offer a cash reward to anyone who can find ITT DOS 2.11 version 2.1 two disk set (I already have ITT DOS 2.11 version 2.0) in either a disk image format or physical form. They wanted me to mention this is a VERY rare exception that they will allow this being that this is to prepare an ITT Xtra XP system for museum use. Some of you know I have been trying to get a proprietary ITT memory expansion board designed specifically for this ITT Xtra XP system board to work and it looks like the key is the utilities that are included with this version of ITT DOS from what I have been reading. There is a utility called FXP that is included with this version of ITT DOS that I will need to take use of disk caching with the expansion card. I have looked pretty hard for this version of ITT DOS and have come out empty handed. What I am hoping is some of you have a stash of floppies or a friend of a friend who just might have these disks hidden in a dark corner in their basement or attic.

So I am offering $50 for the images and $100 for a physical copy. All must be in working condition. Not holding my breath, but easy money if you have it sitting around and it really helps me out getting this in full working condition for display and educational purposes. It will help me greatly to have more eyes and ears hunting for this. This is not essential for the ITT system to work as I already have a working system, but this will help me get that memory expansion card operating nicely.

Here is what I have found so far:

My post here at Vogons mentioning the system with the memory expansion card:

What retro activity did you get up to today?

Here is my thread over at the vcfed.org forums:

I tried a few of these memory board drivers, but none worked:

The rest is articles on the memory expansion, FXP utility, etc. and anything relating to the subject:

I looked on the betaarchive FTP site but was not able to find it.

I have also sent an email to a place that deals in really old hardware/software to see if they have it.

Edit: I'm also seeing mention of a 3.10 version of DOS for ITT systems. Would that possibly have FXP in it as well?

It may, but I would have to see the directory listing. The FXP utility should live on disk 2. Thanks for helping!

Come to think of it any version of ITT DOS beyond 2.11 v2.0 could be promising.

^^ That had to be some pretty thorough searching. How much work was it to track down?

It just appeared on Ebay recently. I actually donated the system to a museum, but I will be providing an attachment in this post once I have everything scanned in. It's on two 3½" 720K diskettes, but files that are needed to get that memory card going can just be copied off to a 5¼" 360K disk. One of those cases where the timing was right and the diskettes still worked. As a matter of fact, one of the disks would not read at first in WinImage, but a second try got it going. Whew!
