Seems like it got the Yamaha YMF754 chip. If you have the WDM driver installed you might try the VxD one instead.

I found information about the Toshiba Tecra 8200 and you're right on the money. It does have the YMF754 chip in it (DS-XG family), which is similar to the Yamaha MU50 or DB50XG Daughterboard. I happen to have the Yamaha DB50XG Daughterboard in my computer (installed on a Sound Blaster 16 CT2740), and it sounds amazing. I also have made SYX files (Sysex MIDI module dump) to reset the module to have everything in it for certain GM/XG/GS files (more effects, rhythm, the whole 9 yards) when the system is turned on and booting into either MS-DOS or Windows 3.1 (made a menu with the config.sys and autoexec.bat files to boot into the certain OS).
