In the BIOS, there is an option for setting the CPU cache to WriteBack. On some boards (I don't know about your's specifically), you need to enable with jumpers as well. Regarding checking if the CPU is in write back mode, I recall that the tool "cache check" can see. This however I am not 100% shure of. Perhaps someone can confirm if the tool can do it.

I found out it was running in write thru mode on cpu when using sisoft. But still can't figure out how to enable write back mode on it though. There is no internal cpu chache option in the bios settings though its supported.

tested ctcm and found the cpu L1 cache is in writethru but the L2 cache is in writeback. is there a major difference in using writeback vs writethru? also currently my cache is currently at 20ns if I were to get a 15ns cache will I get any major improvement? Will I get better performance If make the l2 cache writethru as well?
