Does anyone know the maximum capacity harddisk the Asus P5A mainboard with the latest bios can handle?
It recognizes a 40gb hdd without issue now but a 500gb one is recognized as 8gb.

Looks like the max it will work with properly is 128GB.

That being said, you could add a PCI IDE or SATA controller with BIOS and have support for way larger than that.

The other option is to use a drive overlay program in order to be able to use the larger size drive with the onboard controller.
