My quest to build the dream 486 that I wanted back in the early 90s has lead me down some bumpy roads (including the infamous PC Chips fake cache memory boards, of which I was not aware of until it was too late 😵 ).

My latest acquisition hasn't been very forthcoming with information. The motherboard is a Vtech/Tandex chipset identified by the "artwork" number 702585B CS. The only information about this particular board that I could find came from this forum post from 2002. That post links back to service.tandex.com, which is not accessible at all it seems (403 forbidden errors everywhere) and using the Internet Wayback Machine at archive.org didn't return anything useful since the zip files for the documentation weren't archived. Tandex itself seems to be a ghost of a company with very little information regarding any manufactured PCs that seem to fit the description of this PC.

Some additional information about the board:
Processor: i486 DX2 66MHz
RAM: 8x FPM SIMMS (came with 8x1MB installed)
Motherboard slots: 2x VLB, 6x 16-bit ISA, 1x 8-bit ISA
Motherboard chipset: Vtech/SiS
BIOS: Systemsoft

The board POSTS just fine but has some quirks that I don't want to start troubleshooting until I have some documentation to reference.

I've included the following link for an image of the board.

Any additional information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

We would love to have a backup of that bios for this page:
