*toccata et fugue - in DRam minor*
It seems that I have "killed" two boards with a memory stick(32MB, FPM, 50ns).
After the stick was inserted, the system did not boot and removing, and inserting another one, did not change this.
When I put my finger in the voltage regulator?(transistor with metal casing) there is no heat. What is a bit puzzling is that this stick worked in an SiS49x based board but in the UMC888x based it seems have wreaked havoc. The SiS board is still working flawlessly.
Any similar experiences?
Update:
one of the boards is not dead. It seems that it wasn't the SIMM but a faulty CF adapter...
