So as shown here What retro activity did you get up to today? my new 380XD works very well ... except for this :

I tried "Card Soft PCMCIA driver for Windows 95" driver from lenovo's website https://thinkpads.com/support/Thinkpad-Driver … ddfm/380xd.html but that doesn't seem to work ...

Anybody has an idea how could-I fix it ?

Okay so I've found the problem. For anybody having this issue, don't bother with cardwizard, it's bullshit, lenovo probably just assumed that because the 380, 380D and 380ED need it that every 380x need that, but nope. On the 380XD, you only need these : https://www.driverguide.com/driver/detail.php … 45&action=winfo
