Ok so I went not to Sandy or to Core 2, I found me a blown computer with an Ivy Bridge I3 in it, board unbootable CPU is fine though.
Core i3 3240 3.4ghz 65W
and HD5850 are what I've decided on based on yalls input

Too bad it doesn't have PCI-e 3.0 support, but that really isn't needed anyway.
it does its an ivy bridge and the board is B75 so PCIe 3.0 and USB 3

So USB 3.0 yes, but PCI-e will be limited to 2.0 (if above "Expansion Options" are accurate).
I had no idea ivy bridge I3 didn't have PCIe 3, odd wonder why intel left that out
