My friend gave me an old crt monitor that was disassembled to atoms. Well i managed to put everything back together and the monitor seems to power on, but the picture looks like this:

Any suggestions what could cause this?

it seems there is no SYNC signal - fixing is possible if you find someone that knows about CRTs

That indeed looks like lack of horizontal sync or a loss of horizontal lock. I'd check continuity on the HSYNC pin on the VGA cable first.
