i just wanted to know FOR SURE 100%
that i will be able to use an Iomega ZIP 100 *internal drive*
connected to a promise EIDE MAX isa card (or similar EIDE ISA Card?)
installed inside a 386 DX40 100% ISA motherboard ?

is this going to work out for me?
sorry if this question seems silly i just want to make some progress here 😉
i need zip compatibility
i have my cdrom working finally but still no zip 100 drive working
because im out of ide ports.. only have 1 on my controller ISA card

From your own post on oldschooldaw: "Supports ATAPI-ready IDE CD-ROMs and/or tape backups (manufacturer’s hardware device drivers required)"
I would bet on it working. Speaking from experience, I have an internal Zip100 ATAPI in my 386, but I'm using a SIIG EIDE controller to do it. I don't have it setup to work in DOS, but Windows 95 found it and it works with no additional drivers.
