Hi all,

I've just picked up a rather nice Compaq Deskpro EX motherboard to replace a rather lethargic SiS 620 / Celeron 366 combo. The new board is great as luckily its just a standard MicroATX board, and even better, my old I/O shield fit the new board perfectly (as the new one didn't come with one sadly).

Anyhow, does anyone here have any experience with modifying Compaq BIOSes? ideally, I would just like to remove the Compaq branding and boot logo (even better if I can change it to something else!), as the board is in a Packard Bell PC and it looks a bit odd to say the least 😜

I've attached the latest ROMPAQ as a disk image which I created.

Cheers! 😀

P.S: For anyone curious of the specs:

- Compaq Deskpro EX Intel 815 based motherboard with AGP 4x
- Intel Pentium III 866MHz CPU (this was a pleasant surprise; I didn't know what chip I was going to receive with the board!)
- Analog Devices 1885 onboard audio (but I may replace this with a SB PCI. Any thoughts?)
- Matrox G400 32MB Rev.B AGP 4x
- 3Com 3C905B 10/100 PCI Ethernet adapter
- 2x256MB PC133 SDRAM
- 3GB HDD (to be replaced of course)
- Goldstar 32X CD-ROM drive
- An abundance of front panel buttons that have nowhere to connect to the motherboard (ah well!)
