Once upon a time my PNY Verto FX5200 lived happily beside my soundblaster live! Ct4760 in my Compaq Presario 5003US. Then one day I decided to move the cards around a bit to improve airflow. Big mistake. Ever since then, I’ve been getting the following error message. Ten OS reinstalls, 50 driver reinstalls, a rom flash and constant moving around of the cards and I cannot for the life of me get them to work together. Where am I going wrong here? I know it’s those two cards because when I remove the sound blaster, the video card works fine. When the video card isn't working because of the conflict, the sound card works fine. I've tried swtching around the IRQ assignments in the BIOS but it made absolutely no difference. I've attached pictures of the error. Hoping somebody can help!
