I tried to collect many configurations to compare them.

• The targeted era is ca 1993-2000
• Must be an authentic configuration (available computer parts at the specified age)
• Compare the usability of the rigs, e.g. the frame rate is acceptable for me, or do I need a next generation?
• I collected benchmarks for DOS and Windows 98
• I collected "interesting" hardware what I liked.

Finally I build two configurations, instead of one: a DX4 and the latest configuration of the 20th century (the first Geforce with the first Coppermine).
Maybe it helps to somebody else too. Don't forget, in the 90s we were happy with 5-15 FPS, but actually the 30 FPS is a very acceptable minimum. So if you remember, "it was fast" - no, it was not. 😀
