Just a quick question: Can you use a S.E.C.C. Slot 1 heatsink meant for Pentium II's to cool S.E.C.C. II Pentium III's?

I just upgraded my CPU in my Pentium III build (which you can find here) from a 600E to an 800E, and, given that the heatsink I currently have on the CPU is only rated up to about 800MHz (although the CPU heatsink is this model, it actually looks like this: https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/lpAAAOSwr21al3xE/s-l225.jpg), and the CPU hovers between 30-50 degrees Celsius at idle, I thought getting this cooler that has a design like this (https://sgcdn.startech.com/005329/media/produ … P2DUAL.Main.jpg) would be for the better.

Again, just a quick question. Thanks!

Okay, thank you SSTV2 for that demonstration. I'm glad it's possible, but because of the fact that I would have to expose the back of the CPU, well, I'd rather not unless I would need to. 😀

The heatsinks that are meant to be clamped onto a Pentium II cartridge (which I suspect is like the one that Startech offers) cannot be used in combination with a Pentium III directly without drilling extra holes and removing some surplus material/fins.
