I found this PC on the side of the road yesterday, and took it because it looked interesting, despite having no front or side panels. 😒 The BIOS screen shows the PB logo, and there is a PB OEM Windows ME key on the back. No other stickers, nothing.
Specs:
Some s478 intel based motherboard.
1.6 GHz Pentium 4
256 MB RAM
1.5 GB HDD
Oddly, there are no serial numbers ANYWHERE on the thing. Any pointers?
PB models varied hugely between markets. Where was that roadside? I'd expect an iMedia or iXtreme if this was the UK. Exactly which So478 board is it?
In Ontario, Canada. The motherboard appears to be based off of an Intel Desktop Board D845GVSR.
A picture of the motherboard would help a lot.
Sure about that motherboard? With a PB BIOS it's obviously a PB board, but that Intel OEM doesn't sound right for that era.
See the bottom block of "MPGA" boards for So478. With an i845 I'd expect it to be a GA8IDMNF or MS6506.
As for S/N, that might have been on the missing plastic casing. Could you get a pic of the rear of the system?
Also check the side of the bottom expansion slot for a P/N.
