Building my own PCs since 1991 - for my retro builds it's "no CF-disks, no Floppy emulators, no modern cases etc.", only the real and authentic stuff whenever possible.

"...Encrypt computer data in real time (German)

The company CE Infosys has developed a highly integrated ciphering device called Supercrypt CE99C003. The device can encrypt or decrypt computer data at 100 Mbps. The architecture of the Supercrypt building block provides for a physical separation of the security-relevant functions such as loading of keys and algorithms as well as the granting of usage rights from the use of the actual data path. The building block not only supports the DES (Data Encryption Standard) algorithm, but also allows for more complex variations of the DES. The chip also has an internal key memory that can hold up to 16 keys. The chip is manufactured in CMOS technology. For example, the Super-Crypt-Chip can be integrated on a network controller board to encrypt data in real-time. To facilitate the application, a design-in-kit is offered, consisting of a SuperCrypt-equipped PC card for ISA bus systems, which supports all functions of the chip. ..."
