Hey guys, just sharing part of my hunting through thrift stores here in San Diego, CA, trying to find an older machine to run MS-DOS. Ran across this old Osbourne 1, I've only seen this on one Youtube channel, The 8-Bit Guy, they wanted 25 dollars for it as is, it was a bit ratty, not sure if it was really the project for me, looks like it needed a lot of work. Did I make a mistake in passing on this?

Well I guess you can sell it again for at least 25 USD to someone interested in repairing it... Did you take some pictures?

Yes, it's quite sought after as it's one of the first true portables. I see a working one going for $150-300 and even untested ones for $50-100.

I'm still debating to go get it, I bet I could get it working, the youtube channel, The 8-Bit Guy, did a 3 part series on one of these.

I was talking to a co worker about how i collect older computers. He's quite a bit older than me. He cheekily told me "oh I had an osborne executive I chucked in the trash a few months ago"

I nearly threw up... 🙁
