Hi, I recently came across an old Viglen Genie system with Intel 440BX motherboard and Pentium II 266Mhz.

However, the system doesn't start when powered and power on switch is used. Power source and switch are good - tested on another SS7 motheboard.

Also, when using 'power on' pins directly on the board, no joy.

I changed RAM and power source and the system started but only once - just to get stuck before POST. Also, by mistake the power source was on when I connected it to the motherboard, so it started without making use of 'power on' connector on the board.

Since then, no joy to get it started again.

Any advise on how to make use of this motherboard - other than hanging it on the wall? 😀

Photos attached.

In order for them to start you must have a CMOS battery installed, these Intel boards will not run when no CMOS battery is detected or is installed and dead

Another way to see it boots, just use it without a memory stick and see it beeps, also I recommend to remove and put the processor back in because of oxidation that has build up in the slot contacts and on the processor ones as well

Good luck
