My CPU fan was not working when I got it, but I revived it with mineral oil. But it sometimes makes an awful noise, so I'd like to put a fancy one in.
I don't see any reason why that fan would not work with your machine, other than that you will need a 3-pin to 4-pin Molex power adapter (apparently not included with the fan) to attach it to your PSU.
Incidentally, someone swapped their Pentium MMX's broken CPU fan with one of those Noctuas lately.
Ok, thanks. It's the same price for a 486 cooler, so I'd rather get this one. 😀
I have those adapters in storage, so I'll need to track one down.
