Hello everyone,

I'm having a really stupid problem. I can't install some games under DOS from the CD drive. When i try to run the install.bat/com etc. I always get an access denied error.

An example: I managed to install TNFS (not the special edition) from Win98, but it requires DOS mode to run. So i restart in DOS mode try to run the game and get an error saying "cdromdirectoryentry - ERROR 2 READING DIRECTORY /frontend\movielow\ea.tgv " If I try to install it from DOS, I get access denied error when typing install on D:\.

The same happens when I try to install any Quake I Mission packs. I get the same access denied error under DOS when typing install on the CD drive. However it works under windows...

To make it more complicated some games do install from DOS and lets me use the D:\ drive. To name a few: Virtual Pool, Quake I, Doom.

Weird that opening text files from any disc works though... but copying files doesn't.

I am completely out of ideas.

If you are trying this from old hardware instead of an emulator on a modern hardware with a modern OS, ask in Marvin. This forum is for DOS games on modern systems. Marvin, the Paranoid Android
