Hi all, I’m building a 486 system, and for I/O I have a VLB card I want to use, but have a doubt about the jumpers...

While for the most part it is self-explanatory:

- I suppose shorting left and center pins select the option on the left and shorting center and right gives the option on the right?

- Some pin groups came with no jumper. What happens if they are left like that? What happens if they are left like that but the parent option is set? (Example, nothing defined for COM2/COM4 but COM2,4 is disabled)

- I have a printer enable set, and then way below LPT2/LPT3. Does that mean thise teo are the only two supported and Incould not set LPT1 with this card?

Thanks!

Hi! I think it helps (the manual is slightly different):

Also you can consider doing the modding in case your card has a problem similar to mine
Re: What retro activity did you get up to today?

Leaving pins J12-J14 without jumpers, imho, set this options into some default states, something like COM2, LPT2, Game port enabled. But it difficult to say for sure, because it's necessary to make some measurements and to have controllers' datasheets.
