hi, i have 3 s478 processors, the thing is that i don't know which would be better:

Pentium 4 2.0 SL6QM (northwood) 20x400
Celeron D 310 2.13 SL8RZ (prescott-256) 16x533
Pentium 4 2.26 SL7V9 (northwood) 17x533

what do you think guys? what would be the order?
thanks

The Celeron. Two cores trumps two threads. And do those Northwoods even support hyper threading?

emmm i think you re way wrong, neither of these processors are dual core nor hiperthreaded, they're standard 1core 1 thread without 64bit support nor xd bit

3-Celeron D 310 2.13 SL8RZ (prescott-256) 16x533

Celeron D was a lot nicer than Celeron Northwood but, it was still slower at the same clock than P4 Northwood, given the clock advantage and FSB it might give a hard time for the 2.0, but I think overall, the P4 will be slightly faster.

the positive of the P4 2.0 is that it would be the easiest to OC on FSB133 max boards, maybe.

You're right. My bad.

Is this too much voodoo?

SL7V9 is the latest stepping and probably overclock well.

I must be some kind of standard: the anonymous gangbanger of the 21st century.

What do you want to do?.. C-D is more feature rich, P4 is faster due to double L2 size and extra 113Mhz (games!).. also Northwood runs cooler than Prescott, i'll choose P4 for gaming.

If you're planning to OC these things.. get some good cooling setup, it's not nice to have a little Chernobyl at the table :p.

no overclock at all, is mainly games, and because of the gpu that i have available, there will be no games that will benefit from sse3 more than from the extra cache and clockspeed

Pentium 4 2.26 SL7V9 (northwood) 17x533
this would be my first pick.
What motherboard are you intending to use the CPU in? What's the rest of your system gonna be like?

Whats missing in your collections?
