Hello,

I have an ABIT AH4 which a very nice VLB mobo, but is a low cost version of the AH4T and does not come with support for DX4 CPUs and 3.3v, which I would like to have very much 😀. I'm sure ABIT won't mind 😀. I know a couple of differences are some missing jumpers, a voltage regulator and an electrolytic capacitor. I was not able to make anything more out using the picture I found on the net.

Please, If you have an AH4T in your possession, help me mod my AH4 to be a AH4T. For starters, I need a high resolution pic of the mobo, a part number for the voltage regulator and the uF and voltage values for the capacitor right next to that regulator.

Thanks,
_ar

The capacitor is probably a 10uF 16V one, at least it is on an ABIT AG4 which is a very similar mobo. I still need to know the part # of the voltage regulator. Also, if you have the AH4T and the cap next to the voltage regulator is not 10uF please tell me.

Hi...
My board is inside a complete build, so I can not take it out and measure it through. You know, what possible resistors that might be to measure. Yet I will look my stash of photos through, and see if I have something regarding the voltage regulator and so on.

Don't eat stuff off a 15 year old never cleaned cpu cooler.
Those cakes make you sick....

They are all that I can find on a short notice. Hope they will give you at least some information.

Thanks beforehand! What I really need is the part no. of the voltage regulator and the uF and voltage of the electrolytic cap right next to it. If you can also write me the ids on the BIOS chip that'd be stellar, that way I'd know if I need to reflash the BIOS to have the 3.3V working. Thanks again, truly appreciated!

This is awesome! I can definitely see the voltage reg. part # so I can jump on ordering 😀. I could make out the BIOS code on the IC, I'm not sure if the code is any indication of the BIOS version or simply a regular serial, mine's different tho. Thank you so far!

Untill I can power it on and take note of any of the information on boot, then I have this picture here.

Thanks a million! I am going to look into this after I cleaned up the acid damage now that the battery's been desoldered. If you had the time to see the capacitor values sometime that'd help me quite a lot. I'm not sure that 10uF 16V is the same on this board as on the AG4 one.

Thanks again for your help! Really appreciate it!

No problemo... 😀 I had little time, because I had to crack the nut of getting fullscreen on my IndivisionECS V2 scandoubler.

Finally got to open my dx2-80 again. And this is the best picture I can get of the capacitor that you asked about.

Dont forget there are also some resistors inside the cpu socket. (those yellow small things) Only dont know which are installed. And which are not.

~ At least it can do black and white~

Perfect! Many thanks for your troubles, will report on how to mod goes 😀. I really hope I can turn it to support DX4-100, finger crossed 😀.

Iam also really like to know what you have done, and how the progress is going.

Hi, I have put the project on the backburner for a while now. As far as I remember, besides the empty component positions I have also found some differences in the traces between the two versions in some other areas and bought an ASUS board that supported the Dx4-100 instead. Might revisit the project in the future, I don't know.
