Hi,

recently, I was lucky to buy a 5170 case through eBay.
Actually, I planned to improve a rusty 5170 that I already own.
However, what I got was not only the case which looks quite nice, but also a 256/512k system board (Type 1) which appeared to be in a good condition.

Unfortunately, it turned out that the board has an issue.
I was able to start it past the memory test about three times.
However, most of the time - and now always - the board appears to be dead when turning on the PC.
I got myself some new old stock ram chips for swapping but no success.
I also tried with the PSU from the working AT which needed some extra load to keep the thing going.

Thanks to minuszerodegrees I could burn and install the Supersoft/Landmark Diagnostic ROMs.
At the beginning, the memory test of the first 32k passed but then the memory refresh test failed.
After re-seating J18 the memory test fails with all bits faulty at address 06E41.
I believe I also saw 06E42 once but normally it is always 06E42.

Now I am at the end of my abilities.
Does any of you guys have experiences diagnosing 5170 RAM issues?
Any idea / guess what the issue could be and how to track it down?
