Greetings to everyone,

yesterday arrived my full VLB system with desktop AT case, turbo, reset button and key lock which I was looking for years.

The problem is that the motherboard is the PC Chips M912 v:1.7 with Fake Cache chips soldered. I couldn't imagine it from the pictures...

But this is not an a big issue, if I solder the dip socket, add real cache chips and the jumper headers for the cache it will work. I was disappointed a little but there's a solution to this.

I also found a Soyo vlb motherboard at decent price but the voltage regulator is missing.

Do I only need to add a voltage regulator and some jumper headers next to it?

This is the picture of the motherboard...

Found info about the board here: https://stason.org/TULARC/pc/motherboards/S/S … SA-VER-2-2.html

The board can take a 3.3V processor, and I recommend a fixed VRM and the jumper for the VRM. The following are needed:

1) TO-220-3 T1085CT-3.3#PBF 3.3V VRM (solder to U31 on the board)
2) TO-220 Heat Sinks 4880SG for the VRM heat sink
3) 2x 3-pin jumper leads
4) jumpers

The board supports 3.3V and 5V prospectively with the following jumper settings:

3.3v
pins 2 & 3, 5 & 6 closed
5.0v
pins 1 & 2, 4 & 5 closed

I soldered on a 3.3V fixed VRM on my Packard Bell Pack-Mate 28 Plus's motherboard (PB450) with 2x 22µF 6.3V tantalum SMT/SMD caps, and bridged the R131 for the 0 Ohm resistance. I have yet to purchase a 3.3V DX4-100 processor sometime soon.

Is this motherboard fairly good? I’ve been considering getting it. Does it have a seperate turbo/ keylock jumpers?

Yes, it does have...

I've replaced it, about a year and a half with the QDI V4P895GRN/SMT V1.0 (S1.1) because it had the voltage regulator to use Am5x86 without issues.
