The board is quirky but it works. However I'm unable to change multiplier settings of the cpu no matter what I do. The multiplier override function is greyed out but as I understand extreme edition cpus should be unlocked? I've tried multiple bios revisions and peeked into a couple manuals. Seems like this was never an issue anyone had. I'm confused and at my wits end 😜 Anyone have a clue?

The unlocked multiplier for EE CPUs started with the Core 2 series.

You will need to overclock via bus speed which gives you more performance than just overclocking via the multiplier anyway.

You may also be able to lower the multiplier, but there won't be any multipliers higher than the stock multiplier.

Prescott Extreme is multiplier locked.

No, unlocked multiplier was featured with Pentium D Extreme.

Haha, learn something new every day. Didn't even occur to me to check if the cpu is actually supposed to be unlocked x) I'll see how far I can push it with the fsb then. Don't think there is a way to lower the multiplier either.

Unfortunately any achievements of Prescott Extreme are pale in comparison with Pentium 4 Cedar Mill, which also is underclockable by SpeedStep.
