Hello, I want to change the psu of my 2 configs that use a 20 pin connector and they need beefy 5v rails.
One is the MSI KT3 Ultra2 (https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/KT3_Ultra2) with a power hungry cpu and I will probably use a FX 5900 as videocard.
Second is ECS P4S5A/DX+ (V5.1A) (http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Product/Prod … 78-LL-Intel-RR-) with P4 3.06ghz HT, I use this computer to test every video card since it has universal agp slots.

I thought those could be the best:
For Socket A: https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/imwAAOSwFCdc4iBx/s-l1600.jpg
For Socket 478: https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/xOUAAOSwQehc43ZY/s-l1600.jpg

But then I noticed there are other interesting psu for sale (if the label is not misleading):
Kmex pz-400 (https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/pqcAAOSwoYlc4hFM/s-l1600.jpg) 400W: 3.3v: 26A, 5v: 46A (Combined power max: 225W) +12v: 20a.
Chieftec atx-1136h (https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/lkYAAOSwjLJc43I5/s-l1600.jpg) 360W: 3.3v: 26A, 5v: 35A (Combined power max: 230W) +12v: 18a.
Xxpower lc-b400 (https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/wjUAAOSwUr9c43Up/s-l1600.jpg) 400W: 3.3v 28A, 5v: 30A (Combined power max: 225W) +12v: 20a.
FSP Fortron/Source fsp300-60atv (https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/GDMAAOSwf0dcng7x/s-l1600.jpg) 300W: 3.3v 28A, 5v: 30A (Combined power max: 200W) +12v: 15a.
IT ATX 400 it07xb (https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/tSUAAOSwOSVdFkZx/s-l1600.jpg) 400W: 3.3v 28A, 5v: 30A (Combined power max: 200W) +12v: 15a.

In the end, what should I buy in your opinion?

Thanks in advance.

seasonic and the FSP are the only brands in your list id personally let touch any of my computers. They are both okish brands, nothing great but good enough if they are good model numbers. zippy/emacs is a good power supply for retro computers if you can find the right one for good price. that part is hard.

Thank you for the feedback, don't you trust Enermax? I think that the fsp 300 watt could be not enough...

I have an Enermax EG475P-VE that looks similar to the one you posted and it's built like a tank. I recapped mine since it used dubious capacitors and it's from around the plague era, but other than that it's very solid.

I also have an FSP300-60ATV and it's very good, though less powerful than the Enermax. It should still be enough for a hungry Athlon XP I think.

Kind of depends on how many amps you really need on each voltage... most of the modern Corsair units have 25-30 A on +3.3v and +5v and are recommended for general use, though I have found in my own testing that while an HX1000 with 30A on both works fine with an Asus TUSL2-C socket370 board with Pentium III 1.4ghz Tualatin chip, 3 RAM sticks, 5 PCI cards and an AGP card, SSD, optical drive, fan controller, 5 fans, etc... it doesn't seem to want to POST on my new Tyan dual socket system so YMMV.

That all being said, I decided to pick up a used Enermax EG701P-VE tonight and will be recapping it + heavy modding to put it into the HX1000 case so that I can continue to use the Corsair modular cables.
