Hello ( HP's laptop 2006. )
DDR2 SO-DIMM laptops around: 2006-2009.
Can I put 800 Mhz PC2-6400 and run it at full Mhz on a Mobile Intel 915GM Express(Pentium M 770) ?
HP's suggested is 533 Mhz PC2-4200 ?
https://support.hp.com/ee-en/document/c02045847

Previous owner has put= 2 pcs 667 Mhz HP (395317-731) 512MB PC2-5300S.
Confused does higher Mhz get limited by BIOS to 533 Mhz PC2-4200 ?

the 915gm is a pretty old chipset so its quite likely that it will only run at ddr2-533 speed. there is no need to concern about performance because thats sufficient for the cpu.
you can plug ddr2-800 dimms into it as it only indicates the maximum speed that it can handle, anything lower than that would be ok.

Ok. CPU: Pentium M limits the RAM speed to "Bus Speed=533 MHz FSB"
DDR2-400 (PC2-3200)
DDR2-533 (PC2-4200)
DDR2-666 (PC2-5300)
DDR2-800 (PC2-6400)
DDR2-1066 (PC2-8500)
