I picked up a Dell Dimension XPS T500 the other day (PIII), it has a 3 1/2" drive in it and I am attempting to add a 5 1/4" drive as well. After a few attempts it will only recognise 1 drive at a time.

If only one drive is installed then it will work fine, if both drives are installed it only recognises the 5 1/4" drive as drive A, the cable I'm using has the 5 1/4" connector before the twist (usual drive B position) and the standard 3 1/2" connector after the twist (usual drive A position).

The bios only shows information for drive A, with no mention of drive B. I have udpated it to the latest A11 bios in hope that it'd have more options, but to no joy.

Does anybody know if this system is only capable of one floppy drive at a time?
