Hello
For a 2-memory slot laptop 2006: Intel 915GM limits DDR2 SO-DIMM RAM to max.2GB and speed max.533Mhz=PC2-4200.
Which should I put for max.performance ?
2x1GB 1Rx8 CL12 Elpida.
or
2x1GB 2Rx8 CL12 Samsung.

It seems 1R=1 rank memory is "newer" and more expensive than 2R=2 rank memory.
But performance difference confuses me which is really better ?
What RAM performance software can I use to test both settings ?

"More ranks allows more banks to be kept open, which could reduce average memory latency.
Downside, more ranks may require looser timings, because there are more chips connected to the same lines on the DRAM bus."

So I should go with 2 ranks either: 2Rx4, 2Rx8, 2Rx16.
Fastest is 2Rx4 according below.
"In general, a x4 will perform better than a x8, which will perform better than a x16"
