My IBM PS/1 is mysteriously tuning on ?
When I leave the room I turn it off, When I enter the next day I find it turned on ?
It does not have a networked card nor is it attached to a network.
I only have DOS 6.22 installed and original Sound blaster 16 , CT1740 card.

Maybe a BIOS alarm is set?

Also check for a faulty power button or PSU.

It might be a bad power switch because sometime when I press the power switch it does not turn on.
I have to press the power switch a few times before it turns on.

Do you know if there is a bios update for the IBM PS/1 model 2155a ?

Current bios is dated 12/16/93

There is no bios “alarm” option setting in computer bios.

I think it is turning on at a certain time, but I don’t know how or why because this feature does not exist in bios.
There is an “standby” and “shutdown” timer setting in bios but not a “turn-on” setting.
