Hi all, my name is Mark, I’m new to here, interested in all things old but of course a little knowledge is a dangerous thing! I’m waiting for the system in the title to arrive, it’s a Type 8570 386DX, 6MB RAM. I’m wondering could anyone help me figure out if a Make IT 386 to 486 (dx slx2-50) would be compatible with it as an upgrade? Thanks in advance and sorry if I’m missing any info needed!
Mark

Thanks so much for the quick reply. I’m willing to take a chance and buy it, just the guy has two versions of it, one is slightly smaller with a strip chip on top and the other is larger with no chip. Apologies for not being very helpful, I’m sort of at sea about it 😀 I will certainly check out a 486DLC

Not sure about the MakeIT, I only know these for 286 and 386SX.

However, you can just replace the 386DX with a 486DLC. No special adapter required.

Picked up “80486, TX486DLC/E -33GA, 486DLC, Vintage CPU, 486 with 386 pinout, GOLD” for $20 on eBay just now, will that do as a backup in case my plan falls through? Thanks!
