I don't think they supply those numbers for consumer cards.
these are the settings for some industrial sandisk cards:
SDCFJ-4096-388 (4096MB)
4,097,802,240 Capacity (formatted in bytes)
8,003,520 Sectors/Card (Max LBA+1)
16 No. of Heads
63 No. of Sectors/Track
7,940 No. of Cylinders
SDCFH-4096-388 (4096MB)
4,098,834,432 Capacity (formatted in bytes)
8,005,536 Sectors/Card (Max LBA+1)
16 No. of Heads
63 No. of Sectors/Track
7,942 No. of Cylinders
maybe one of those will work just fine 😀
Thanks for those, but putting either in hangs my 386 on startup at "Wait....." for a good while until it gives a C Drive error....
Going to format it as 2GB card and see what happens.....but not sure what to put in for those Cylinders / Heads / Sectors.....
What sort of 386? SX DX Generic ISA set up with standard multi i/o card with IDE hdd interface. IDE built in to the motherboard. You may need help for the system to see the drive such as Dynamic Drive Overlay software (I use EZ-Drive for this purpose), EIDE controller with it's own bios such the Promise cards, XT-IDE Rom in a nic boot rom socket, dedicated XT-IDE HDD card that sees drive larger than the systems bios can cope with.
There's a glitch in the matrix.

Apparently 32-bit is dead and nobody likes P4s.
Of course, as always, I'm open to correction...😉
Running Testdisk on one should report the CHS.
Yeah, standard with Multi I/O card installed. I tried ON-Track but it doesnt see the card either. Dont happen to have an ISA EIDE controller either....
Tried Several Multi I/O Cards and get HDD Controller errors each time. I have the drive with 482 cylinders / 255 heads / 63 sectors according to TestDisk.
I even formatted it at 2 GB FAT before booting the PC, with no luck.....
