Hi, i,ve recentrly acquired a Beautiful Compaq Deskpro 486/33M, it works but the dallas has gone and the hdd it's dead..
The system wants a confuguration utility must be executed...the f10 key don't do anything because of the dead HDD (no config partition ).

I'm searching for an image of the configuration floppy disk...it's an EISA system and i suspect a different approach than others normal isa based system in configuring it. I'm searching a manual for the deskpro 486 series too...bat found nothing...please help me...thanks in advance 😀

You need a Compaq System Configuration Utility which creates the floppy disks to configure the system. For example SP2397 (Compaq System Configuration Utility, EISA Config 2.32, SP1999.EXE).

Here is a list of all the Softpaqs: http://66.113.161.23/~mR_Slug/EISA/!CPQ0000.C … ed_softpaqs.txt
And here are the files for download: http://66.113.161.23/~mR_Slug/pub/EISA/source … 20to%20archive/
