Hi,

I'd like to test a latest fastest AMD based AGP based micro-atx mainboard with modern Linux/Win8.1 enviroments. Which mobo/chipset/cpu combination would you suggest looking for? I imagine not many choices after the early Athlon64's? I imagine a 775 would be more expandable on the cpus side but I already tried that.
Thank.
Bye

I have an AM2NF3-VSTA, but it isn't micro-ATX sized as requested. I've seen this format with socket LGA775 and i865 chipsets. Why do you need AGP?

Because I've quite enough AGP cards to test and only few PCIEx and like to see how well these old gpu can still lives. I did in the past similar test with a Pentium 4 3.4Ghz Prescott and some AGP card, was quite good as a platform (beside watt power consumption.. 😁).

Note that you'll hit problems with Windows 8 and nF3-based boards: nVidia dropped support for their AGP chipsets after Vista. Linux runs fine though.

They did, but win-raid has you covered : LINK 😉

Still though, nF3 boards can be... a pain in the ***, to make work with newer OS'es.
