I was reading that the kt7 and kt7a only supports the XP with latter revisions. You would not happen to know witch all revisions support the XP?

Mine is a v1.1 according to the sticker.

1.3 being the only one that officially supports the XP would make sense why most of the CPUs I have will not POST in it.

I am using a Barton Mobile 2800+ in mine which is a lower power CPU so that may be part of the reason it works just fine.

That being said, take a look at this old archived page. Looks like versions older than 1.3 were more of a YMMV type of thing.

It could also be that the older versions had suckier voltage regulation and a newer good quality ATX power supply takes care of a lot of that.

Thanks for the info.

Got a Chaintech 7AJA2 running an XP Thoroughbred 2600+ (AXDA2600DKV3C) in my Athlon rig. It's a KT133A board with one ISA port.

At least theoretically it should be able handle the 266 MT/s Barton XP-M CPUs. If it does, the 3000+ is the fastest possible CPU. Looked for one to try with for a couple of years now without success though, they seem to be quite rare.

I had a KT7A 1.1 that worked with an XP 1600+. As I recall, it wasn't guaranteed that they would work with the earlier revisions - they might POST with one, they might not. I also set up a KT7E with 2200+ (or something similar, it's been some time ago) similar to the way you can with the KT7A. I still had that board up until Nov. 8 of 2018, when I lost it along with all of the rest. Based on the information in this thread: https://www.overclockers.com/forums/showthrea … 3GHz-now!?pp=30
