Here's a case badge I made for my 286 system which contained a Cyrix Cx486SLC2-50 upgrade processor.

Wow, I didn’t even realize that you could go from 286 to 486. That’s really cool.

I like the msdos stickers also. That someone else posted.

Something about that logo just seems off. The 286-->486 graphic is good, but Cx486SLC2 seems really out of place. Maybe it's the font. Or maybe it would look better centered with the cyrix logo rather than the graphic.

*edit*

This is what I suggest:
-Center the Cyrix logo and make it larger
-make the 286-->486 graphic smaller until the "486" is horizontally centered.
-center the cx486SLC logo, and maybe consider modifying the font so the spaces between the characters are smaller.

*edit 2*
I tried it. These are the results. At the very least, consider fixing the font.

Here is a 1-bit scan of the original logo and Cx486SLC2. The font lines up fairly well with the GIMP supplied font, just the boldness is a bit off.

Anyone made a badge for the Cyrix 5x86?

EDIT: Oh they are on the first page of this post *facepalm*

I actually never liked case badges that show what CPU you have inside. The case badge should be the vendor logo, and the CPU sticker should go elsewhere on the front bezel (not on a drive slot). Is there a VOGONS case badge yet?

I have so many different systems setup that if I don't identify what is inside, I will have to be randomly pulling out cases and opening them up. The case badge seemed like the least intrusive means of front-facing identification.

Using badges for the same reason. 😀 Not that I have that many retro systems but even then I forgot sometimes which system was which.
