I've picked up a Compaq Deskpro 386/33 that i've been trying to get back to a functional system. Got DOS 6.22 and Win 3.1 installed on it without issue. After installing a CDROM drive and a sound card the system no longer automatically refreshes the floppy drives when switching disks. (these were both installed previously without an issue, i wiped the drive to reinstall due to removing an aftermarket IDE controller card and switching the HD to the motherboard controller) If i put a new disk in the drive it reads the directory as if the first disk is still in the drive. If i run chkdsk on the drive it will refresh the drive. The drives are correct in the bios. I've tried booting with bypassing config.sys and autoexec files and still the same. And advice would be appreciated
