i could not get it initialized either in dos or win98. there are some jumpers on the card and i looked up info on them, but the jumpers are mostly about the ide port and midi port, only two for setting sound io address(220/240/260 and so on), and none on setting irq and dma.
i tried choosing irq5 and dma1&5 in win98 but it simply doesn't work, nor does it in dos games.
what else shall i do to set it up?

What motherboard and did you disable PNP in the BIOS ? Being a non-PNP card you have to set it up as if in DOS world.
Check this forum topic: Can't get CT2290 to work in 98SE
Also you must install the SB software for DOS to install the drivers for DOS and set the config.sys/autoexec.bat properly....

Hate posting a reply and then have to edit it because it made no sense 😁 First computer was an IBM 3270 workstation with CGA monitor. Stuff: https://archive.org/details/@horun
