Hi folks!

I'd like to update the BIOS on my TEKRAM P5T30-B4E to the K6-2+/K6-3+ friendly version posted here:
http://web.inter.nl.net/hcc/J.Steunebrink/k6plus.htm

However, Tekram's website no longer has any mention of their motherboards or the BIOS versions/flash utils required to update the BIOS.

Does anyone have the appropriate AWDFLASH utility for this or know which one I can use?

Thanks!

The original is Award Modular BIOS v4.51PG from the BIOS code. So any Award flasher that can work with v4.51PG or newer. Later versions of Aflash.exe supported more bios chip types. I suggest v8.6 or v8.9. DO NOT FLASH from Windows ! You must use a DOS bootable disk and not have any Memory managers (not even HIMEM.SYS) installed.

added: rename the flasher: awdflash.exe for DOS, 8 char naming structure

Hate posting a reply and then have to edit it because it made no sense 😁 First computer was an IBM 3270 workstation with CGA monitor. Stuff: https://archive.org/details/@horun

Thanks folks! - I assume I can still flash safely from HDD instead of floppy so long as I "boot into command prompt" (F8 during boot) with Windows 98, and do not have anything loaded in config.sys or autoexec.bat (i.e. rename them to something else)? any issues with MS-DOS 7.1?

Actually try Shift+ F5 as it boots Win98 to Command prompt and bypasses any configs. Yes you can and should flash from HDD, just be sure it is on C drive and make a backup of current rom in case something goes wrong.

Hey just wanted to say thank you - this specific version worked perfectly. Did the boot without anything that the other individual Horun recommended (shift-F5) , and everything was flawless!

I re-jumpered the board for 2.1V / 3.3V split voltage, set the bus to 75, and the K6-3+ @ 450 MHz is way faster than the PMMX @ 200 MHz 😀.
