Hi all,

I have installed a Matrox G450 on a Pentium 200 with Windows 98.
I used the driver w9x_682.exe from www.matrox.com.
Should I expect some sort of OpenGL hardware acceleration?
I installed Quake 2 and can't select opengl renderer because of the console error "No hardware acceleration detected".
Am I missing something? Thanks!

I'm using driver revision 6.82.016 with a G450 in a Compaq Deskpro running Windows ME and OpenGL support is provided. In Quake 2 however it's not working for the either. I can select it, but it falls back to software mode every time I try to activate it. Half-Life on the other hand works fine with it.

I have tried a few simple OpenGL-only programs and I always get 1 fps. I downloaded "3D ExerciZer" from http://www.benchmarkhq.ru/english.html?/be_video.html and I get 0.5 or 1 FPS.
derSammler: could you try it too?
The Serpent Rider: I updated to driver 6.83 but I always get 1 FPS with OpenGL-only programs.

I found a GLInfo.exe program at benchmarkhq.ru and this is the output:
