I have a SOYO 6BA+ IV

Since I was getting "windows protection error" on startup after installing the HPT66 controller, and read it was because you needed the latest BIOS, I decided to update it.

I got the latest BIOS for this board, 2BA5, and since I obtained it from different sources and all files checked out, I thought it should be good to go.

Thing is I boot from a DOS floppy, run the utility, flashing starts and seems to go all good, but then I get like a reboot and black screen, and now it won't post/boot... No sounds, nothing.

Tried removing power, clearing CMOS, etc. nothing.

I read that it is possible to do a flash on another similar board doing a "hotswap" of the BIOS chip and with uniflash.

Is this correct? What would the detailed procedure be? How similar must the boards be?

Thanks
