Hi Guys,

So i have posted a few threads before regarding similar things but here it goes. I have a 3850 agp and I used to have it paired with a core 2 duo e4600 on a ga-vm800pmc and it run well, however the hdd crashed and i ignored the project for a for a while. Recently I got a p5vdc-mx and I installed a q6600 and paired it with the 3850, however performance has been much worse then I remember it being with the e4600. When I use Afterburner I notice that while running most games or benchmarks GPU usage and CPU usage is generally around 50%, while the fps was well below 30 and very choppy. I am using catalyst 2011 1205.2146.38999. I know there are issues with the drivers and the agp version of this card. Does anyone have any ideas or different drivers I could try? This driver is the only one I could get working. Thanks.

I seem to remember you need the "Hotfix" drivers for that card. Have a search for that.

Cheers

I don't know if it is of any help for you but my archive tells me that when I ran my PCIe HD3850 on Windows XP back in the day I used Catalyst 9.3, then 9.9 and finally 10.6.
Those mainboards you mention are based on the VIA P4M800Pro chipset so sure make you installed the AGP driver for that, ideally prior to the Catalyst drivers.

As far as i rember with some drivers my HD AGP only ran with PCI Speed, there where special drivers for the AGP Card.
