I have one of these and a Creative Live Drive non 5.1, like the one here http://ixbtlabs.com/articles/sbliveplatinum51/index.html

However, no matter what driver I use, I cannot make it work (one of them even caused me BSODS, it was an standalone update)
Does it require a particular software to be used? If so, which one?

Attached is a picture of my setup

Thanks in advance,

You shouldn't need a special driver for the front panel, besides the one you already use for the sound card.

If the ribbon cable is properly attached and the power cable is connected it should just work. Concerning the ribbon cable, check that pin 1 on the card matches up with the red line on the cable.

I have a SBLive 5.1 and an Audigy1 front panel and they worked fine for me without any extra adjustments. In case it matters, I'm using this driver CD.

PC#1: Pentium MMX 166 / Soyo SY-5BT / S3 Trio64V+ / Voodoo1 / YMF719 / AWE64 Gold / SC-155
PC#2: AthlonXP 2100+ / ECS K7VTA3 / Voodoo3 / Audigy2 / Vortex2
PC#3: Athlon64 3400+ / Asus K8V-MX / 5900XT / Audigy2
PC#4: i5-3570K / MSI Z77A-G43 / GTX 970 / X-Fi

I bought mine second-hand and it didn't come with a remote, so no idea about that.

do you use the WDM drivers or the VXD ones? installing drivers the computer froze once, tried again but this time from the device manager and the wdm ones install fine and, well, I get sound out from the live drive ir I have, but I have not tested the VXD ones.

I use WDM drivers because they seem to work better for games running under the Win98 DOS prompt. They also allow for the use of sound fonts in any DOS games that support General Midi.

Note that I didn't install the dedicated DOS drivers from the CD because those had compatibility issues with a bunch of games that I tried.

T_love95.exe on the desktop.

A man of culture. Tough times call for drastic measures.

Most of the Ys series as well, those games are fun!

I'm glad to know that people recognize those games, they are epic!
