White traces on my AWE32 - should I worry?

Hi guys,

Today on my test bench I've noticed some white marks on my CT3900 AWE32. Never noticed it before. Only appears on the backside, I tried to clean it with a Qtip and some IPA, it instantly disappears when I touch it with the alcohol but reappears exactly as it was after a few seconds.

Card works fine as far as I can tell. From the opposite side it is a small cap, picture attached.

Sorry about the potato pics, it's late here and my room isn't very bright 😁 I can try and provide better pics if necessary.

Maybe the card was reworked and that is a odd flux residue that IPA won't remove, have seen that a few times but usually is shiney brownish not dull white. Try a little Windex on a q-tip, rub hard and see if it removes it.

Yes, Windex is glass cleaner (with small amount of ammonia), and cleans very well. Suggest you use some IPA after the glass cleaner to remove any dry ammonia salts that could be left after cleaning.

Just dried up flux that couldn't be removed easily except manual gentle scraping off then cleaned with alcohol. Happens all the time with some poor flux.
