I have a Pentium 60 PC (Compaq) and was thinking about trying an Overdrive 120 chip on it. (For science!) Before going off the deep end here, was this particular upgrade path (socket 4 I think) a guaranteed thing, or would BIOS or other factors figure into the actual odds of success?

I can find no documentation anywhere about this particular machine (XE 560) being capable of the upgrade or not, so I’m wondering what my chances are.

I haven’t pulled the heat sink off the existing CPU yet but I believe this is a normal, socketed Pentium 60 in there.

Secondary consideration... this P60 is one of the FDIV bugged ones... not sure I want to give that up 😀
