Just thought I would let people know about this combo .
- Card BIOS only takes 6K conventional memory, 4k less than a SIL3114
- LBA48 capable
- Works with rloew's trim.exe for SSDs (with my Samsung 860EVO 500GB)
-In HDTach, hits 90MB/second sustained read performance at 10% CPU use on P3 1400MHz, which is faster than a SIL3114 native SATA card (80MB/second something) on the same system (same CPU use) .
The same JMD330 also works on my board's integrated ICH2 ATA66 IDE controller at 50MB/second and 5% CPU (had to enable DMA). Trim also works in that setup . My 815 industrial mainboard has a BIOS from 2006 that properly detects 127GB+ drives, this is likely not the case for other 815 boards .
EDIT: Maybe I should have postet in this thread :
Re: SATA2PATA adapters experience
Also, my unbranded JMD330 is from 10 years ago (bought it for on old PVR)
EDIT2/3 : See issue with TRIM.EXE issue with FreeDOS's FDISK in this thread --> Corruption issue when using rloew's TRIM.EXE (TRIM utility for DOS) with FreeDOS FDISK 1.2.1/1.3.1 partitioned DISK
